More Information
  • So… where did the title come from?  Yeah, I have watched a bit of British television and movies over the years and so I just picked it up along the way… but then the question is, where did it originate.  This is probably the best answer I have found so far.
  • Why Londinium instead of London?  Like I said, I wanted to make a clear distinction that this is NOT historical London so I took inspiration from the city’s original name
  • Yes… George Lucas did film and release the Star Wars franchise all out of order, and the reason can be found here.
  • Roleplayers are people who play Table Top Roleplaying Games.
  • If you look around, you may notice the conspicuous absence of dinosaurs.  They all checked out some time ago.
  • The elves arrived in Middle Earth a really REALLY long time ago.  There were no dinosaurs, so they must have already gone extinct.  At least that’s how I play it.
  • When I was first introduced to Dungeons and Dragons, the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Dungeon Master’s Guide had just been released, so it was late spring or early summer of 1979.  I was in seventh grade.
  • More information about Session Zero(s).
  • Most of you probably already know about steampunk… but in case you just wandered in here and are curious… this is Steampunk.
  • This world will primarily be influenced by the Victorian and Edwardian eras of history.  When I do branch into other cultures, I will try to stick to the same time period… of that culture is from a different time period, I will try to extrapolate it into that time period.
  • I mentioned the Whitesnake song, Here I Go Again.
  • Through experimentation, I found that the TerralithTectonic and Regions Unexplored mods did not work out well for me, but maybe they will for you.
  • This is the seed I decided to go with: -1182293777316276354
  • This is the definition and origin of the term “Terra Incognita”.
  • Definition of Fanboy.
  • I mentioned a quote from Janice from the television series Friends.
  • I don’t play or use Terra Firmacraft or Immersive Weathering, but you might consider taking a look.
  • What in the world is a workhorse?  It is an idiom based on actual workhorses.
  • Some older folks like myself are still emotionally scarred from the Star Wars Holiday Special incident.
  • I hope you (or I) never have to see a cardiologist… but just in case you are curious.
  • When I said that “I waxed lyrical”… and if that confused you… check this out
  • I decided to move on without the Steam Powered and Rustic Engineer mods, but if you are interested in Steampunk Minecraft at all, you should check them out and keep an eye on them as they mature.
  • Homebrew has a number of meanings… both direct and indirect.  It is not a new term, but a useful one.
  • Minecraft villagers are a sore spot with me, including how they look. I am replacing them for my Steampunk world, so here is some of what I was thinking about when I came up with my new plains (British), snowy (Austrian), and taiga (Scottish) villagers.
  • At one point, I mentioned Darwinism.  If you are not familiar with it, here it is.
  • As I was describing the plans for Londinium, I made several references to real places and things, including: Houses of Parliament, the clock towerHyde ParkSt. James ParkMayfairKnightsbridgeKensingtonSpitalfieldsElvedenVictoria Station, and the Tube
Music

Ever since I watched The Sting as a child, I have loved Ragtime music. However, I am not a musician, composer, or even a particularly knowledgeable fan of music. I enjoy what I enjoy and that includes many different genres of music. However, Ragtime is the soundtrack for the era I am simulating and this may the first time that modern listeners may be exposed to it. So I am including some general Ragtime links and whatever information I can find on the particular tracks I used in this episode.
