Parks o' Plenty - Episode 8 - Making a Dash for Cash
0:00 Intro
9:17 The Reinvented Top Spin
22:01 Disaster Strikes a Nearby Park
31:51 The Arrival of Clockwork
42:37 A Wave of Vandalism
- I mentioned that people go to amusement parks to have the bejesus scared out of them.
- When I changed the name of the sub concession to “Sub Hunters”, I commented that it sounds like the name of a series on the Discovery Channel.
- After placing the Top Spin, I briefly considered covering the attraction to weatherproof it, but the building would be so big that it would look like a Hollywood sound stage, which reminded me of our visit to Martini Studios in British Columbia during the holiday break. Specifically, I was talking about their Merry and Bright event.
- Lafayette’s Return was named after the Marquis de Lafayette.
- I mentioned the synchronized fountains in front of the Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas… but in fact, those fountains are in front of the Bellagio Resort.
- I mentioned Where’s Waldo? While looking for vandals.
- Later on, I used the English idiom “breaks the back of it“.
