Rediscovered - Episode 6 - Playing Musical Shelters

In a survival game, shelter is one of the prerequisites for… surviving. But not all shelters are created equal, and while we are making progress on building a large and fortified stone house… the current dirt hut is not big enough for us to start smelting and casting… not without a serious risk of fire and stepping on cooling casts. So this time around, I spend some time on building a new but bigger temporary shelter while continuing work on the main house and improving my overall survival situation. It is kind of like a game of musical chairs… but plopping my butt down in the closest chair when the music stops, I am ducking into the newest shelter when darkness falls.

“A beautiful day in the neighborhood”, is a phrase from and homage to Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.
I mentioned Max Headroom.
While thinking out loud about the surge in Vintage Story, I also mentioned Cubic Odyssey and shared some thoughts about the game now that it is released.
At one point, I used the term, “pedal to the metal.”
Later on, I mentioned “Little House on the Prairie.”
Speaking of prairies, I mentioned prairie dogs.
While talking about capturing and raising chickens, I mentioned decaf and the Hokey Pokey.
I talked a bit about Indiana Jones and real-world archaeology. I also had some thoughts about the British Museum.
That led to my memories of a great book, Kingdom of the Dwarfs.
